This is nothing more than a failed experiment. I'm not able to get spray to display behind more than a few cars at a time and after a while the game just crashes (memory leak?). In any case, it proves one thing - GPL's default code has the ability to simulate rainy conditions, but isn't quite ready to do so yet. After spending a few days on it I realised that resolving these problem is beyond my ability so I'm not going to work on this any further. If there are any professional coders out there who wish to give this a crack, drop me a comment below.
