'Moon and back' is the second single release from David Hope’s forthcoming album '…and the Sea', due for release September 2022.
‘Moon and back’ is available to stream on Spotify and all other digital streaming platforms from the 25th of March, 2022. The digital single track can be purchased from www.davidhope.ie, Apple Music, Bandcamp and all other digital music platforms.

A deeply personal ode to saying goodbye, to parting words and loss, 'Moon and Back' is a beautifully sad song depicting something we all must do in our lives:
“Goodbye, such a sweet and simple word, yet a dagger to the heart, tears your world apart.”

The song, as with the album overall, represents Hope’s most deeply personal and engaging body of work to date. Built on a core mix of very deep and well crafted lyrics, combined with a great ‘live in the studio’ style of recording, this song will draw the listener into the world David has created.

The track was recorded at Monique Studios in Midleton, Co. Cork. The single was engineered and produced by the renowned Christian Best, who also provides the mesmerising drums and percussion for the track.

Hope is also joined by both international and homegrown musicians, Stefanie Hess (Switzerland) and Darragh Keary and Kealan Kenny (Ireland). Internationally acclaimed, Stefanie Hess, provides double bass and celebrated session musician, Kealan Kenny, performs on electric guitar and slide whilst Darragh Keary performs on piano.
The track was mastered by Grammy nominated mixing and mastering engineer, Philip Shaw Bova.

The video was shot on location in County Clare by Crude.ie.

David Hope is a Clare based singer – songwriter. ‘...And The Sea’ will be Hope’s fifth studio album release. Hope has toured extensively in both his native Ireland and mainland Europe, averaging in excess of 200 shows per year. During this time, Hope has built a reputation as one of the very best live performers on the touring circuit today.
