DreadOut Trailer | Survival Horror Indie Game Movie

A group of high school seniors want to make history as the first people to livestream their journey in an infamous abandoned building, rumoured to be a former cult lair. Despite warnings to stay away from the forbidden building, the group sneaks in and accidentally opens a dark portal to a netherworld where they are hunted by a masses of terrifying creatures and a mysterious woman in red.

DREADOUT the movie is adapted from the internationally successful indie survival horror game of the same name developed by Indonesian video game company, Digital Happiness. The game was produced on a modest budget of US$29,067 from a successful Indiegogo campaign and was the first Indonesian game to be released on international gaming platform Steam.

Since its release in 2014, DreadOut gained international fame after YouTuber PewDiePie gave the game a positive review. Within the first three months of release on gaming platform Steam, the game earned about USD$120,000 and 600,000 downloads.

In July 2018, Indonesian production company GoodHouse.id announced that a film adaption of Dreadout would be produced in association with CJ ENM (South Korea), Sky Media (Indonesia), Kreatif Konten Nimpuna (Indonesia), Lyto Daraindo Fortuna (Indonesia) and mm2 Entertainment (Singapore).

The movie’s story is set as a prequel to the events of the game.
