Myrtle Beach's 24th Avenue North Ocean Outfall project continues to move along right on schedule!

The contractor has made great progress installing the pipe under the ground. The project is making its way toward the ocean. Here are some aerial shots of the project taken February 11, 2025.

As a reminder, an ocean outfall is a giant pipe that will extend 1,500 feet into the ocean underneath the sea floor. Outfalls are important because they remove stormwater pipes from beach and help collect trash and filter water before it gets back into the ocean.

The small section of the beach that is currently closed due to this project is expected to reopen in March. The project is still expected to finish in early 2026.
