Описание к видео Maine’s Sea-Run Fish: Stories of Success (Pre-recorded Webinar)

Each spring, a dramatic & inspirational natural phenomenon unfolds across the state as millions of sea-run fish return to Maine’s rivers to spawn.

The runs of millions of alewives & blueback herring are especially dramatic. Shad are also making a slow comeback. As dramatic as the returns of these sea-run fish are, they are still just a tiny fraction of an almost unimaginably abundant resource just a few centuries ago.

NRCM Staff Scientist Nick Bennett & Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder Project Director Deb Wilson discuss Maine's sea-run fish species, their importance to our ecosystems, & efforts to aid their recovery in this pre-recorded webinar.
