While returning from birding, I stopped my bike when I spotted a large Indian Rat Snake crossing the road casually, as if it owned the place. As I set up my camera to film, I noticed a frog sitting completely still on the leaf litter—right in the path where the snake had just passed!

The frog remained absolutely motionless, relying on its camouflage, while the snake moved towards the marshy ponds nearby. This brief yet fascinating encounter highlights how frogs use stillness as a survival tactic, even when faced with a potential predator.

Indian Rat Snakes are non-venomous and primarily feed on rodents, birds, and sometimes amphibians. However, this one seemed uninterested in the frog and continued on its way.
