Canmore, Alberta, Cougar Creek Flood, June 20, 2013

Hundreds of Canmore residents watch as a flash flood washes away trees, yards, and roads, and threatens their homes.

Thank you to all of the emergency workers who have been working tirelessly to protect lives and to minimize damage. And thank you to those who allowed me to wander just a little further than I should have. :-)

Benchlands Trail just in front of A Bear & Bison Canadian Country Inn has been washed away, cutting off access to the area of town called Eagle Terrace. Trampolines, fences, balconies...entire back and front yards were washed away, as well as the Lady McDonald trail head.

As the rain subsides, our thoughts are with those who had to evacuate their homes, unsure whether or not they will have homes to return to when this is all over.
