Lexus GX470 Walk Around with big tires and no lift Bonus tire info

I have a Lexus GX470 and I wanted to put bigger tires on it. The stock tire size is 265/65/17 and I found a way to put 285/70/17 tires on without lifting the GX.

When overlanding it's nice to have meatier tires for more traction and gound clearance.

I found 4 obstacles in your way when bigger tires are your goal.

1. The front bumper is confines the tires in a small opening. You'll need to trim the front bumper to make room for these tires.
2. The running boards impede the rear area of the front tires. I removed them all together.
3. The body mount located just behind the front tire will need to be trimmed. This is known as the body mount chop or BMC.
4. The sidewall of the tires will contact the factory upper control arm as you turn the wheels. You may avoid this if you use an aftermarket wheel with the tires.
