Join me on another adventure as I set off from Kagoshima, hopping on a ferry and making my way to the island of Yakushima. After sorting out a booking mix-up, despite the rain, we explored the area around the guesthouse.

The next day, the skies cleared up and I caught the 8 am bus to Shiratani, to hike the breathtaking beauty of a UNESCO World Heritage site! If you’re up for a bit of rain, a lot of green, and an adventure through one of Japan's best hidden gems, then come along!
