After building my first guitar, I decided I needed to build a full solid-body electric guitar. The Les Paul (specifically the black beauty or custom pro) has always been my dream guitar, but that price tag is a bit out of my reach. So, I instead decided to build my own electric, that is purely based on my own aesthetic. Being a woodworker, I can choose my favorite woods, and show them off on an awesome guitar. Originally, the first design idea I had was pretty similar, only with the cherry top being made the same way as the walnut back, however, while loading pallets at my job, I notice the floor of the trailer had an oak butcherblock style construction, and I thought that would make an awesome looking guitar top. So, rather than have a solid cherry top, I opted for the butcherblock style, which I think couldn't have been cooler. I have done some initial tinkering on the guitar after I filmed the video, but overall, I couldn't be more pleased with it.
