Downtown Flushing New York

Описание к видео Downtown Flushing New York

This is a narrated walking tour around downtown Flushing, located in the borough of Queens, New York City. This bustling neighborhood is full of vibrant energy, cultural diversity, and a rich tapestry of history. Downtown Flushing is home to a diverse array of ethnic communities, including, Korean, Chinese, South Asian, Taiwanese, Latin American and many others. It is reflected in the great number of languages spoken on its streets, the wide-range mix of cuisines offered in its restaurants, and the variety of businesses that cater to many different cultural preferences. This area also has a rich historical heritage. With a history dating back to the 17th century, it was one of the earliest Dutch settlements in Queens. Many remnants of its past can still be seen in its historic buildings, such as the Flushing Quaker Meeting House. It is the oldest house of worship in New York City.

(Please note that the Flushing Mall was officially closed in 2015.)
The Mall that I walked into in the video is the New World Mall.
