How to Build a Dance Studio For Under $65

Build your own at home dance studio using easy to find supplies. All you need is $65 and a day to spend building.

* Please note that I have not personally tested the 3M Mounting Tape "Indoor" version, but it seems to be designed for painted drywall and can hold the same amount of weight. In the video, I used the "Clear" version. Let me know in the comments if anyone has successfully used the "Indoor" 3M Tape.

To calculate the amount of tape you will need, multiply the # of mirrors you are using * 4lbs, then multiply this by 4 inches (the tape holds 1 lb per 4 inches). Ex. For 9 mirrors you will need 9 * 4 * 4 = 144 inches of tape.

Cost (in 2019):
Mirrors - 9 x $6 = $54
Mounting Tape - 2 x $5 = $10
Total: $64

Time: 8 hours

As a word of warning, if you plan to remove the mirrors in the future, you will need to soften the tape with a hair dryer to help minimize damage to the wall. However, even when doing this carefully, it's possible the paper on the drywall will tear.
