Here’s 5 WAYS I use the BOSS OC-2 OCTAVE, aka my FAVORITE pedal of all time! The great news: you can do this with almost any octaver pedal!
1. Dub Setting: play higher up the neck, this gives you the impression of two instruments playing the same thing. Used extensively by Pino P. and Daryl J. in the 80-ies.
2. Sub Setting: switch off your dry sound completely. This one became very populair over the last years and for some people this is the only way they use it. It’s so sine-wave/808-y... YUMMIE!
3. Arpeggiator off-on: this is SUCH a cool pedal trick, isn’t it?!? Try to play both straight and shuffle feels, they sound so different from each other.
4. Arpeggiator on-off: gives you a reversed version of nr 3. So with the straight vs shuffle thing you basically have 2 extra settings (bringing this video to 7 WAYS in total..!)
5. Synth Setting: from here on it’s up to you to combine the Octave with WHATEVER is on your board! It works great with fuzz, overdrive, chorus, tremolo, delay, an octave up, anything!

Ps1: Oct 2 is hardly in use. I recently learned that you can mod the OC2, bypassing oct 2 and getting more gain on oct 1. Will do that in the future!
