AirWeights Fixture Plates Quick Demo - Vacuum Clamping Made Easy!

There are several ways to create a reliable "gasket" in order to hold a vacuum under your workpiece. One of our favorite methods is using a 'fixture plate' and some adhesive backed gasket (both available on our website). This video is a quick demo of setting up a fixture plate to fit your given stock size.

Using this method you can quickly and easily create a custom sized gasket for your workpiece.
You can cut all the way through the part and into the fixture plate, eliminating the step of removing tabs or an onion skin from a finished part.
The fixture plate itself is a semi-sacraficial material, but can be used infinitely if you are repeating the same cut (use as a repeatable fixture plate for repeat parts).

Steps to set up a custom fixture plate:

1. Mark Desired Stock Location on top of fixture plate.
2. Fix a perimeter of adhesive backed gasket just inside the stock perimeter on top side of fixture plate.
3. Drill one or more suction holes through the fixture plate material inside the perimeter of the gasket, and near the holes on the AW Vacuum Table
4. Align the completed fixture plate on the AW Table (using locating pins for repeatable re-installation)
