The HPV Vaccine: A Vaccine Against Cancer!

Описание к видео The HPV Vaccine: A Vaccine Against Cancer!

Did you know that there's a vaccine that actually prevents cancer? It's true! The vaccine against HPV (human papillomavirus) very effectively prevents cervical cancer - the fourth most prevalent cancer among women globally (it also prevents some other cancers). This vaccine is now part of routine immunization in Canada and around the world - and with a little luck, it might essentially eradicate cervical cancer! That being said, a lot of kids have missed routine vaccines like this one due to disruptions from the pandemic. This is why it’s even more important to understand the benefits of the HPV vaccine (for both boys and girls) and how it works. So…let’s get into it.

What is The Feed with Dr. G?

“Science provides the knowledge we need to improve our health – but it’s also science’s job to make sure that knowledge is accessible to everyone.” – Dr. Samir Gupta

Nothing matters more than our health. And science is the key to understanding and maximizing our health and wellness. Yet new studies are reported in the news every day, and it seems impossible to keep up and figure out what’s important. At the same time, science is too often presented in a traditional style that’s unnecessarily complex and hard to understand.

As both a doctor and a scientist, my mission is to find fresh approaches to make science clear, transparent, and easy to understand (=obvious!) – for everyone. In our digital world, The Feed is built to keep people engaged and informed about the latest topics and newest science in health and medicine and to empower them to separate fact from fiction.
