Awesome Con 2015 Panel on Sunday, May 31st in Room 102A from 10:00AM-11:00AM! Description: Cosplay promotes creativity, camaraderie, and can even evolve into community service and philanthropic pursuits. The "Cosplay and Community Service" panel will feature members of CosLove and the 501st as they provide tips on how to combine your passion for cosplay along with giving back to your local community and other charity efforts. Find out how you can reach out to local organizations, other cosplayers/costumers to organize events as well as how to use cosplay to reach new patrons or engage students. #TeamCosLove is a group of cosplayers & creatives that support local communities through school & hospital visits within the DC/MD/VA Mid-Atlantic Region! The 501st Legion is a worldwide Star Wars costuming organization comprised of and operated by Star Wars fans.

We are #TeamCosLove! CosLove is a community outreach organization that was founded in 2014 by a group of military veterans turned cosplayers whom wanted to give back to their community. After its formation, the group has grown to include cosplayers, comics creators and other various genre artists and volunteers. The group is based in the Mid-Atlantic Region providing support in Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia. Team CosLove supports fellowship and mentorship within the cosplay community and provides volunteer supported entertainment events to schools and hospitals within the region.
