Описание к видео Excel - Speak Cells After Each Cell is Data Entered - Episode 2039

Microsoft Excel Tutorial - Speak Cells on Enter.

Welcome to another episode of the MrExcel podcast, where we dive into all things Excel. In this episode, we'll be discussing a handy feature that can save you from getting whiplash while working with data from paper. That's right, we're talking about the Speak Cells feature in Excel.

If you've ever had to manually enter data from a paper document into Excel, you know how tedious and time-consuming it can be. And constantly looking back and forth between the paper and the screen can cause some serious neck strain. But fear not, because Excel has a solution for this problem.

To access the Speak Cells feature, you'll need to customize your Quick Access Toolbar. Simply right-click on the toolbar and select "Customize Quick Access Toolbar." Then, choose "All Commands" or "Commands Not in the Ribbon" and scroll down to the S's. Click on "Speak Cells" and add it to your toolbar. You'll want to add it five times to have access to all five icons.

Now, when you have a set of cells selected, you can click on the first icon to have Excel read the contents of those cells to you. And if you accidentally select too many cells, you can click on the second icon to stop the speaking. I joke that some of my coworkers could use this icon on their forehead.

But that's not all, you can also control whether the cells are read down the column or across the rows. And if you want to speed up the voice, you can adjust the settings in the Control Panel. The voice may vary depending on your operating system, but kudos to the Speech team for continuously improving this feature.

And if you want to learn even more Excel tips and tricks, be sure to check out our playlist in the top-right hand corner and click on the "i" for more information. And for a comprehensive guide to all of our podcast episodes, be sure to grab a copy of our book, which includes over 500 tips and tricks. Thank you for tuning in and we'll see you next time for another episode of the MrExcel podcast.
