The much anticipated Pre‑Consensus feature launched on eCash (XEC) with the network upgrade on November 15. This upgrade marks the completion of eCash’s Avalanche integration, enabling nodes to converge on decisions in real time—a historic first for Proof‑of‑Work (PoW) blockchains.

Avalanche on eCash, independently developed by the Bitcoin ABC team, is distinct from the AVAX blockchain. In addition to transaction finality within three seconds, the network gains 51% attack protection and greater flexibility through permissionless subnet capabilities and improved protocol governance, allowing nodes to collectively apply policy and parameter changes without risking consensus splits. It is the first and only Avalanche consensus integration with PoW.
