Queenstown, NZ to Melbourne - Air New Zealand Cancelled Flight - Virgin Boeing 737-800 {Full Flight}

Rainy day in Queenstown. Wicked winds end up grounding our flight and leaving us stranded in New Zealand for a day and night. We end up getting a flight back to Melbourne with Virgin Airlines. Join us.

As it is very rainy the film from the window is affected greatly on the taxi and takeoff. However, if you stick with it there is an epic break thru the clouds. We get to see the south west coastline as we fly out of the country. As we arrive late into Melbourne, and our window is old and worn, we get some grainy views. However, we do cross the city of Melbourne on the eastern side from the south to the north. We get a great shot of the CBD and have a safe landing.

Air New Zealand is the flag carrier of New Zealand. Based in Auckland, the airline operates scheduled passenger flights to 20 domestic and 30 international destinations in 18 countries, primarily within the Pacific Rim. The airline has been a member of the Star Alliance since 1999. Although we have had good experiences in the past with Air New Zealand, when they decided that the flight was cancelled they completely left us stranded. Not a food voucher, not a hotel voucher, nothing. We were stuck in New Zealand for another day and had to completely fend for ourselves and get a flight back. We have never had an airline do this to us before. Perhaps it is because of the notoriety of this particular landing, and perhaps it happens a lot. None the less it was a bad experience.
