Welcome to the No Labels No Walls Action Monday on 8.2.2021 to learn how UBI Lab Network can contribute to the flourishing UBI movement. UBI Lab is a worldwide decentralised network of citizens, researchers, activists and campaigners exploring the potential of Universal Basic Income. The UBI Lab Network is facilitated by the social enterprise Opus.*

A UBI Lab is a citizen led group seeking to explore and advocate for a Universal Basic Income. Groups are themed geographically or by lived experience. There are currently 35 UBI Labs across the world with the majority located in the UK. Labs meet each month to share learning and contribute to a shared set of resources. The Labs are assisted by the UBI Lab staff team who offer skills, resource and expertise where needed to facilitate the aims of each UBI Lab.

The co-founder and director at Opus Mr James Lock will host the event. He has over ten years of experience working cross-sector in a variety of project management and delivery roles. He wants to play a part in making the world a better place to exist in, which is why he works for Opus. He is particularly interested in how project work can be developed to resolve systemic problems at their root. He continues to be enthusiastic and hopeful about contributing to a society which values all humans, is equitable, is ecologically sustainable and which gives primacy to wellbeing, quality of life and discovery.

Opus is a not-for-profit social enterprise working in culture, politics and the arts to support ‘upstream’ solutions to social, political, economic and environmental concerns. Opus creates platforms for independent information and communication which amplify voices within the local economy, voluntary, community and campaign sectors. Opus supports active citizenship and community participation.The core projects are Now Then Magazine, the Now Then App, Festival of Debate, Wordlife, Opus Distribution and UBI Lab Network.
