भगवान श्री गणेश दुखहर्ता है, अर्थात बाधाएं, चिंता और दुःख दूर करने वाले देवता है। और साथ ही साथ गणपतिजी सुखकर्ता है, अर्थात रिद्धी, सिद्धि और बुद्धि के भी दाता हैं। इसलिए गणेशजी के मंत्र सिद्धि मंत्र हैं और प्रत्येक मंत्र में उनकी कुछ विशिष्ट शक्तियां समाहित हैं। जब सच्ची भक्ति के साथ गणेश मंत्र का जाप किया जाता है, तो अच्छे परिणाम मिलते हैं।

भारतीय परम्परा के अनुसार किसी भी कार्य का शुभारम्भ करने से पूर्व गणपति का स्मरण व पूजन अवश्य किया जाता है क्योंकि ऐसा करने से उस कार्य में आने वाली समस्याएं समाप्त हो जाती हैं। जिस कारण वह उस कार्य में शीघ्र ही सफलता प्राप्त कर लेता है। गणपति का एक विशिष्ट स्वरूप “विघ्नहर्ता” के रूप में प्रचलित है जो भोग और मोक्ष दोनों को प्रदान करने वाले हैं। जो गणेश और शक्ति के गुणों का साकार रूप हैं और जो सदगृहस्थ व योगमय दोनों ही जीवन को प्रस्तुत करने वाले हैं। ऐसे देव की उपासना व साधना जो देवों के अधिपति हैं, जिसे सम्पन्न कर व्यक्ति हमेशा-हमेशा के लिए अपने जीवन की दरिद्रता से छुटकारा पा सकता है।

सामान्य तौर पर गणेश मंत्र के जाप से सभी बुराईयां मिट जाती है और भक्त को विवेक और सफलता का आशीर्वाद मिलता है। जो मनुष्य सच्ची भक्ति से गणेशजी के मंत्र जाप करता है, उस भक्त के मन में बुरे विचार प्रवेश नहीं करते और जिस घर में श्री गणेश मंत्रो का जाप होता है, उस घर में विपदाएं प्रवेश नहीं करती।

Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha (Sanskrit: ॐ गं गणपतये नमः) is a powerful prayer and mantra comprised of four parts that are all in praise of the Hindu god, Lord Ganesha. Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha can be translated as “My salutations to Lord Ganesha.” This mantra is from the Ganapati Upanishad, a long Sanskrit writing from the Vedas all about and in adoration of Ganesha. We chant it when inner or outer obstacles are holding us back from reaching our true selves and fully realizing our potential. This Mantra is also used to balance and clear energy blockages in the Root Chakra or Muladhara. Below is the meaning of this powerful mantra.

'Om' is thought to constitute the divine in the form of sound. It is the universal sound where its utterance is considered the sound of creation itself.

'Gam' is a bija mantra, or the seed mantra, for Ganesha or Ganapati. These words are used interchangeably to indicate the same god in Hinduism.

'Ganapataye' is actually the alternate name for Ganesha, which is Ganapati. The ending 'aye' indicates that something is for or to Ganapati.

'Namaha' means salutations. This word is in most prayers and is also in the commonly used word “namaste”; which means my salutations to you. Thus, the mantra means "Salutations to Lord Ganesha."

This is a very powerful and healing mantra that can be used in Jaap as an instrument to attain knowledge, success, wisdom, inner peace, and wish fulfillment. Additionally, they should be recited 108 times/day before sunrise and chanted using a Rudraksha Japa Mala with the utmost devotion and while envisioning the Elephant God in one’s head during the chant of the mantra.
