Understanding Autism in Girls and Women: Traits, Masking, and Late Diagnosis

Описание к видео Understanding Autism in Girls and Women: Traits, Masking, and Late Diagnosis

Over the past 10 years, more individuals have been diagnosed with autism (ASD). For me, understanding this way of brain processing is important so that I can become more aware of specific thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviours when I coach. It also helps me be a more supportive, knowledgeable ear for those who feel they, or their children, might be struggling with this type of processing in a world that tends to favour "neurotypical" ways of thinking.

This video aims to raise awareness of ASD for those who might still feel unsure about what it actually looks like. I share examples of common traits associated with autism and focus on how ASD presents in girls and women.

My hope is to create videos with very specific examples of all the conditions I research and have experienced personally. I know it can be hard to link everyday behaviours with traits of certain conditions, so I aim to help bridge that gap through these videos. Real-life examples are always welcome in the comments as well!
