In August 2022, the whisky distilery on the Isle of Jura in Scotland replaced the old stills that had rendered up many a dram. Just before they were scrapped and heading to 'Dram Valhalla', Jura based experimental musician and sound artist Giles Perring was given the opportunity to play the stills and reveal the sound hidden in these huge copper chambers. By now their walls were thinned til they were like drum skins, by the slightly acid waters from the Market Loch that give the Jura whiskies their flavour.
