Bandon is a small city on the Pacific coast of Oregon.

Located where the Coquille River meets the ocean, Bandon is a small city in Coos County.

The city's name is said to come from the Irish homeland of the first settlers here in the 19th century. The population was 3,321 according to the 2020 census.

With mild weather averaging around 70 degrees Fahrenheit in summer and around 40 degrees Fahrenheit in winter, Bandon attracts many tourists, especially those who enjoy surfing.

Bandon is known for its cranberry bogs, producing around 5% of the total US production and about 95% of Oregon's production. That's why the Annual Cranberry Festival takes place in the second week of September.

It's also renowned for cheese production and has a famous golf course built on sandy terrain.

US 101 runs through the middle of the city from north to south. Loop Beach Road connects to the beach on the south side of the city, providing easy access. There are plenty of parking spaces throughout.

Across the Coquille River to the north is Ballard's State Park, famous for the Coquille River Lighthouse and Ballard's Beach.

Today's video will show you driving through the city along US 101, passing by the port where boats are docked, going inland to where the Coquille River meets the ocean at the south jetty, then returning to US 101 and heading north.
