During his 16 year pro career, Doug often used this hitting drill as part of his pregame routine. This hitting drill has many benefits, including:
• Eliminate stiffness; Stop being overly-mechanical
• Find your athleticism
• Get off your backside and develop a more powerful weight transfer
• Check your power position at contact (Gives you instant feedback if you are losing power with bad elbow position)
• Improve bat path by staying through the baseball (Prevent opening up front shoulder too early)
