LANDLINE - Self-Titled

Описание к видео LANDLINE - Self-Titled

I normally wouldn't bother uploading something that's already been posted elsewhere on Youtube, but last I checked, I'm still on Discontinuous Innovation Inc.'s payroll. Plus they asked for this nicely. I guess at some point, I actually gotta pretend I'm still serving as the company's "Senior Corporate Manager Person of Public People Publicity & Product Advertising... & Knuckles". Verbatim from the job description. They have fun there sometimes.

It's been well over a year since I last covered something from D.I. Inc.'s spectacular range of consumer-friendly, almost entirely asbestos-free auditory products, and I couldn't think of a better return to form than that of the super-corporation's most recent prototype, Landline. Once described to me by Mr. Toyota Avalon (Senior Advisor of Synthetics) as a "new-wave punk project featuring Toyota Avalon and Shirley Mistaken", Landline is a brave venture into the lucrative field of the aforementioned "newest wave" rock music, which isn't entirely foreign to the bright minds behind Discontinuous Innovations Inc.'s Research & Development team. And yet, the newfound algorithm utilized in Landline's self-titled cassette quickly proved to be a hit among test groups, with one guinea pig -- er, "test subject", remarking that the assortment of computerized soundscapes were the "best thing he's heard since the cries of his newly-born child", feeling particularly thrilled by the tape's array of "funny sounds". Another subject was quoted saying "I wish I had another set of ears so I could listen to Landline twice as hard". Discontinuous Innovation Inc. is currently researching the viability of secondary ears.

...I mean, just look at the fucking chart, man. Look at the chart! The numbers! The fucking numbers man! They're so great! What more convincing does a consumer need beyond a healthy set of projections? Statistically speaking, Landline cannot fail. It can't. Please buy a tape or record so I don't lose my job.

Please.
