The Beatitudes: #1 Blessed are the Poor in Spirit

Описание к видео The Beatitudes: #1 Blessed are the Poor in Spirit

The ‘poor in spirit’ are the ones who live in humility and in the Wisdom of the Holy Spirit, in the presence of God alongside their fellow man, and to those who pursue this Beatitude they are the saints of today and of eternity.

The phrase "Blessed are the poor in spirit" comes from the Beatitudes of Jesus. The beatitudes were statements of characteristics and blessing that are part of the Sermon on the Mount that Jesus spoke and is recorded in Matthew. Each beatitude looks at different circumstances of life and how all Christians are blessed through their faith.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

The Knights of the Holy Eucharist is a community of Franciscan brothers dedicated to adoring Jesus our Eucharistic Lord, serving the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, Alabama. Consecrated to Jesus through Mary and loyal to the Holy Father, the knights labor for a new evangelization by promoting Eucharistic devotion and liturgical renewal, by offering knightly hospitality via priest retreats and pilgrim tours, by aiding the Poor Clare cloister, and by sponsoring the revival of parish Altar Knights. Visit us for a week-long "Tour of Duty" and discover what our personal motto, Christus in corde templa, means.

The Knights were founded by Mother Mary Angelica of the Annunciation, P.C.P.A., on July 25, 1998, feast day of St. James. The spirit of St. Francis, the "Knight-Errant of Assisi," became a role model for the new Knights; this spirit was demonstrated by St. Francis' deep sense of faith, fiery enthusiasm for Christ, and readiness to battle for His kingdom on earth. The Knights of the Holy Eucharist are single Catholic men seeking to follow Christ more closely through a life lived in community and dedicated to the service of God. The primary focus of this service is the fostering of reverent devotion to Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
