Stamp collecting and philately are very specialized areas. When first postage stamps were issued in early 1840s, they followed an almost identical standard in size, shape, and general subject matter. They were rectangular in shape and bore the images of Queens, Presidents and other Political figures. They also depicted the denomination of the postage-paid, and with the exception of the United Kingdom, depicted the name of the country from where issued. Nearly all early postage stamps depict images of national leaders.
But soon after introduction of postage stamp, other subjects and designs began to appear. Some designs were welcome, others widely criticized. But some designs are so spectacular that they have achieved a special place in philately.
In this video I have briefly discussed the 15 unique stamps which have been awarded the honour of "The Most Beautiful Or The Best Stamp In The World" In various International Philatelic Competitions.
