This video covers 3.1 (part 1 of 1) from The Practice of Statistics: Scatterplots and Correlation. We goes over what a scatterplot is, what the difference is between explanatory and response variables, what the correlation coefficient, r, is and how to find it, and how to describe scatterplots with DOFS!

SWBAT (Students Will Be Able To):
—Understand the difference between explanatory and response variables
—Draw, plot, and describe a scatterplot
—Calculate and interpret correlation in context
—Explain how correlation coefficient, r, is influenced by extreme observations
—Explain how correlation does NOT equal causation

*PS: there are a few typos/mistakes on this one, I'll re-record it soon, but for now:
@ 10:10, -1 is a negative perfect correlation, not positive. And the SWBAT for 3.1.1 is not correct!
