This video also shows two Humberside Police officers approach an open air preacher and them unlawfully arrest the preacher for a public order section 5. The preacher is taken down from his stand and put in handcuffs. After showing the officers that the arrest was unlawful, one of the officers then contacts his superiors for clarity. The arresting officer then chooses to de-arrest the preacher.

This video is designed to show you some of the challenges you might face when engaging in street evangelism. I hope this video both educates and equips you for your own gospel ministry. It is my aim to provide videos which show the reality of what actually happens on the ground whilst preaching in different locations in Britain. I believe by observing such videos you will become more equipped to deal with the many challenges you will face whilst preaching on the streets.

Public Order Act 1986, Section 5. Harassment, alarm or distress.



(1 ) A person is guilty of an offence if he—

(a) uses threatening or abusive words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, or

(b) displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening or abusive,



-within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby.

Public Order Act 1986 Part 3A Hatred against persons on religious grounds or grounds of sexual orientation.

29J Protection of freedom of expression Nothing in this Part shall be read or given effect in a way which prohibits or restricts discussion, criticism or expressions of antipathy, dislike, ridicule, insult or abuse of particular religions or the beliefs or practices of their adherents, or of any other belief system or the beliefs or practices of its adherents, or proselytising or urging adherents of a different religion or belief system to cease practising their religion or belief system.

29JA Protection of freedom of expression (sexual orientation)

(1) In this Part, for the avoidance of doubt, the discussion or criticism of sexual conduct or practices or the urging of persons to refrain from or modify such conduct or practices shall not be taken of itself to be threatening or intended to stir up hatred.

(2) In this Part, for the avoidance of doubt, any discussion or criticism of marriage which concerns the sex of the parties to marriage shall not be taken of itself to be threatening or intended to stir up hatred.
