I have an extensive collection of CDVs , original fashion plates and fashion volumes from the 1870s which I have spent years studying. As always, there is often something new I learn studying these images and text. I am not an expert, however through my research I have learnt the key elements that define dresses throughout different years in the 1870s. Having a lot of resource material really helps to give a balanced overview of the era, and a feel for the various stages dress went though during this era.
