Animation of the 1983 Pacific Typhoon Season, which featured several powerful and damaging storms. The highlights of the season were Typhoon Abby, reaching a Category 5 peak at sea before affecting Japan; Typhoon Ellen, which formed in the Central Pacific and tracked near Luzon as a Category 5 storm, and then significantly impacted the Hong Kong region; Typhoon Forrest, which exhibited a historic and possibly understated intensification phase; and Typhoon Marge among others.
