You may not know you have a broken garage door spring until you start have issues with your garage door opener. In my case my garage door opener started to show signs of straining and my garage door started to bow near the up from the extra weight. The springs inside of the tension tubing is suppose to lighten the load of the garage door, but when it breaks, it can be a real headache. In this video I use a scale to weight the door with the tension turned down on each side of my double garage door separately. Since lessening the tension on the right side does not affect the weight of the door, it's safe to say that the spring is broken. I guess I will be doing another video in the near future on how to replace a broken spring.
