Fisherman's Blues - The Waterboys (1988) Lossless Audio

Описание к видео Fisherman's Blues - The Waterboys (1988) Lossless Audio

"Fisherman's Blues" is the title track from The Waterboys fourth studio album, which was released by Ensign Records in October 1988. What can you say about this song?....It's just another garden variety epic track from The Waterboys! So many great tracks on great albums it's hard to choose, but "Fisherman's Blues" is still something special. I hope you enjoy the vid AI warts and all...my vids are all about "the feel" and I don't get too upset by who's wearing which shoes at what time, fires in the locomotive coal bin, and rarely seen multi instrumentalists playing their multi-instruments! *CC lyrics pending!

About the song/album/artist (Wikipedia summary):
The Waterboys fourth album marked a change in the band's sound, with them abandoning their earlier grandiose rock sound for a mixture of traditional Irish music, traditional Scottish music, country music, and rock and roll. Critics were divided on its release with some disappointed at the change of direction and others ranking it among the Waterboys' best work. The album was the Waterboys' best selling album, reaching a number 13 placing on the U.K. charts on release, and 76 on the Billboard 200.

"Fisherman's Blues" was the first album I heard from The Waterboys, courtesy of a friend. I listened to the cassette he gave me, but I might not have if he hadn't been so insistent. I'm forever grateful because I've been a huge fan of this band ever since.

About the audio: Sparky worked on several source versions that were available and we think we have chosen the best after adjustments. The audio uploaded is sources from The Whole of the Moon: The Music of Mike Scott & the Waterboys album. Thanks again, Sparky!!!

About the video:
I think I've done more videos by The Waterboys, and just about any other artist (or it's up there pretty high) and I chose a song by The Waterboys as my absolute first upload to my channel in 2011. I've managed a few videos for these songs that I've been pleased enough with in the years since, but this was always one of those tracks that eluded me because I couldn't figure out how to make something with the images from the lyrics. My best plan was to use a film to set it against, but could never thought of any footage to use for it. Now being able to use ai to generate some of the imagery that was always out of reach has opened the door to this one and so many of the other great tracks by The Waterboys and other artists.

I always wanted to use various traditional Irish/Scottish/British dancing and fiddle playing clips for some of The Waterboys tracks I've made or thought about making, but not easy to come up with....till now...sorta, kinda, because although I was able to manage some of the movements I wanted in ai, I wasn't never able to get it quite right....again, my biggest struggle (and I guess most everyone's!? LOL!) is I keep coming up with some really nice, accurate and artifact free clips, but they didn't quite fit...OR I produce something that is better compositionally with better match to the music....but there is weirdness included. I choose weirdness and feel over absolutely accurate every time! I hope you can enjoy the sometimes silly and ridiculous things that ai does...I'm not making any excuses for the unrealistic movements/anatomy because certainly it could be both realistically accurate AND capture the movement....but I'm not that skilled with the tools yet relative to the amount of money I have available to produce enough ai renders to get it right...and the tools themselves still have a ways to go even in the best hands.

We were discussing the topic of ai inaccuracies in human anatomy and movements (those damn hands!) and how distracting they are to the videos. I'd love to hear thoughts from viewers on the topic! Till then, have fun watching AI trying to decide who's wearing boots and who's wearing high heels with the folks dancing at the pub!

[Lyrics]
I wish I was a fisherman
Tumblin' on the seas
Far away from dry land
And it's bitter memories
Castin' out my sweet line
With abandonment and love
No ceiling bearin' down on me
Save the starry sky above
With light in my head
With you in my arms
I wish I was the brakeman
On a hurtlin fevered train
Crashin head long into the heartland
Like a cannon in the rain
With the feelin of the sleepers
And the burnin of the coal
Countin the towns flashin by
And a night that's full of soul
With light in my head
With you in my arms
And I know I will be loosened
From the bonds that hold me fast
And the chains all around me
Will fall away at last
And on that grand and fateful day
I will take thee in my hand
I will ride on a train
I will be the fisherman
With light in my head
You in my arms
Light in my head
You in my arms
Light in my head
You
With light in my head
You in my arms
