"JAARS is a multidisciplinary team of problem-solvers who are committed to the belief—and the vision—that people’s lives and communities are transformed as they experience God’s Word in their own language." Basically, this non-profit group of missionaries and linguists help to transcribe tribal languages into written alphabets with the end goal of being able to translate the bible to them. They fly to very remote parts of the world without any developed airports. Being able to operate there requires an aircraft that can take off and land in a very short distance.

The Helio Courier is a STOL aircraft that began production in the late 1940s. It features leading edge slats that deploy automatically and large trailing edge flaps. In this demo, they demonstrate what these control surfaces do to enhance the mobility of the aircraft at low speed. The video includes a rocking wave pass, a pitching wave pass (demonstrating the auto slats), and a high alpha pass to name a few. I was impressed by the pilot's skill, especially given the strong headwinds during the show.
