HERITAGE OF CECIL RHODES

(12 Jan 1953) Cecil Rhodes was born 100 years ago - the centenary celebrations will be marked by the Rhodes Centenary Exhibition to be opened in Bulawayo this year by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. A conference is taking place in London, where representatives of the territories of Southern Rhodesia, Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland are moulding the pattern of a federation. Sir Godfrey Huggins, Prime Minister of Southern Rhodesia, speaks on what the policy of federation means to Central Africa.
