Traxxas UDR Off-Road Performance Test | Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer 6S/8S RC Truck | Scale Desert Racing | Cambrian Colliery Monument Bash | Welsh Valleys RC

Hey guys and welcome back to ChriswithaC RC! Today we’re finally back out with the Traxxas UDR (Unlimited Desert Racer) for some proper off-road running and scale desert truck action. The Traxxas UDR is one of the most realistic RC trucks ever built, and in this video we’re testing its insane off-road performance across rough terrain in the beautiful Welsh Valleys at Cambrian Colliery Monument.

After weeks of bad weather it feels incredible to finally get the Traxxas UDR back out bashing. The sun is shining, spring is in the air, and it’s the perfect day to run one of my favourite RC trucks.

Many of you have asked for us to return to this location, and it’s easy to see why. The Cambrian Colliery Monument in Clydach Vale, Rhondda, is not only an epic place to run RC trucks, but also an important historic site here in South Wales.

This monument commemorates the Cambrian Colliery disaster of May 17th, 1965, when 31 miners tragically lost their lives in an underground explosion caused by firedamp ignition. Another explosion at the same colliery in 1905 claimed 33 lives. As a proud Welshman, this place means a lot to the people of the valleys and it’s important we remember the history while enjoying the stunning surroundings.

With that said… it’s time to run the Traxxas UDR.

🛻 Traxxas UDR Off-Road Performance

The Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer (UDR) is built to replicate real desert racing trucks with incredible scale realism, suspension articulation and off-road handling.

This truck absolutely thrives in rough terrain like this.

In this run we’re pushing the UDR across rocky paths, dirt trails, loose gravel and uneven ground, letting the long-travel suspension soak up everything the terrain throws at it.

The scale sliding, stability and suspension travel make this truck unbelievably fun to drive. It genuinely feels like a miniature desert racing truck when you open the throttle.

We even gave it a cheeky splash through a stream along the route.

And yes… this UDR has had a small upgrade.

Instead of the stock Traxxas VXL-6s ESC, we’re now running the Traxxas VXL-8s ESC for improved cooling and stronger power delivery.

With two 3S LiPo packs (6S power) fully charged, the UDR absolutely comes alive.

The way this truck handles rough terrain and powers through the Welsh landscape is just incredible.

❤️ Why The Traxxas UDR Means So Much

For me, the Traxxas UDR represents everything I love about RC:

• Engineering
• Realism
• Performance
• Immersion

RC has genuinely helped me massively with anxiety and mental health over the years. Trucks like the UDR remind me why I fell in love with this hobby in the first place.

It’s not about sending it the hardest jump possible.

It’s about enjoying the run, improving your driving, and appreciating the experience.

• Honest experiences with the truck
