Waiter and Waitress Labor Laws: Employment Lawyer Explains Restaurant Server Side Work Laws

A great example of wage theft happens in the restaurant industry in the form of “side work”. Waiters and waitresses, servers, are paid below minimum wage because of the tips they make but sometimes their employers will ask them to do too much extra work, called side work, which could be a violation of minimum wage laws.
