This track grew from the major to minor movement in the chord progression as it is the primary inspiration for the tone of the rest of the song. There is a relaxing, sort of dreamy lofi vibe overall and the melody trades around amongst a guitar sound and plucky, warbly synth sounds. I particularly enjoyed building the bridge part as it continues from a shortened B section and works its way into somewhat mysterious sounding melodies and harmonies.

The locale is the Meyers Beach Trail along Lake Superior in Northern Wisconsin. Meyers Beach is recognized as part of the Apostle Islands National Lakehore and serves as the trailhead for one of the few Lake Superior lakeshore trails that’s located on mainland Wisconsin. The out-and-back trail begins with a lengthy stretch of narrow boardwalk forest path and though at times is can feel tedious, it is so worth it as eventually you get to the stunning signature cliffs and caves that this area is known for. On this hiking/filming excursion, I arrived just as golden hour was settling in which lead to amazing setting-sun views across the lake as I got out to the scenic lookout points. It is truly one of my favorite places in the entire state of Wisconsin!
