D'Addario EJ11 vs D'Addario EJ17-10P | Acoustic Guitar Strings

A quick comparison of my two favorite D'Addario acoustic strings, D'Addario EJ11 80/20 Bronze (.012-.053) and D'Addario EJ17-10P Phosphor Bronze (.013-.056). Obviously, the guitars have their own tone, but strings do make quite a difference to me as well with playability and especially the highs. I've used both of these strings in performance settings for a long time. Although there are differences based on guitars used, I like the EJ11's (.012-.053) better for band settings because they seem to give a little more on the high end which gives me a more defined pocket in the overall mix, however when I'm doing solo acoustic shows, especially since I have a heavy percussive right hand, I prefer the EJ17's because they seem to fill in the room better. Anyway I hope something in this video helps!
