"Zelda - Caprice" is a piece of band and solo cornet music composed by Percy Code in 1923. Percy Code (1888-1953) was a Melbourne-born Australian musician and composer who initially played in his Father's band, "Code's Melbourne Brass Band". Achieving recognition through competition, he travelled to England where he played professionally. He also toured in the United States Of America as a composer and musician.
On numerous occasions he returned to Australia but finally stayed for the rest of his musical career as a conductor with the ABC from 1924 until his retirement.

The Broken Hill Proprietary Newcastle Steel Works commenced in 1915, making steel for armaments and shipping. The steelworks band was formed independently by employees of the works during the first world war. Their competence was rewarded by international tours of South Africa and Great Britain in which they had great success in band contests. During their stay in the UK, they recorded many discs for Beltona, ACO and others of the "Vocalion" collective in 1924.

Albert H.Baile (1882-1961) was born in Battersea, London and migrated to Australia in 1897. Playing various instruments, he eventually became a cornetist and joined the Newcastle Steel Works Band as leader in 1920. His successful tour of the UK with the band in 1924 was followed by a distinguished career as leader with many elite bands in Australia.

ACO records were a budget label of the Aeolian - Vocalion company produced between 1922 and 1927.
