Explains basic formula format, discusses elements; Pounds per Square Inch (PSI) and Conversion Factor from psi to Feet of Head Pressure and finally requests subscribing and interacting.

Today's problem reads: The pump discharges against

25 pounds per square inch (psi). Calculate the discharge

header pressure in feet.

For this solution, we're going to set up a formula to

solve this problem that uses psi and the standard

conversion factor to convert it to discharge header

pressure in feet. The formula's going to read:

Discharge header pressure in feet = psi x the

conversion factor to feet of head pressure.

Let's see how we're going to insert this into our Excel

spreadsheet.

You can open up a blank spreadsheet. You can select

any row, I'm using Row 5. In Column C of that row, you

can type this description: Calculate Discharge Header

Pressure.

In Column A, you can click the cell in the same row.

I'm using A-5.

You can format it as numbers with two decimals, and

then you can set it as 'bold' and 'centered.'

You can go to the formula bar, and you can type in

this formula:

Equal sign, open parenthesis, 25, close parenthesis,

multiplication, open parenthesis, 2.31, close parenthesis.

[=(25)x(2.31)]

You're going to press 'enter' or the 'return' key and in

your cell, in my case, A-5, 57.75 is your answer. That is the

discharge header pressure, in feet, based on this data, so

that's the answer.
