After several years of seeing sneak peeks and teasers, Bentley has finally released photos of ‘Car Zero’, a working prototype of the Bentley Blower continuation series. What we are looking at is a brand new 90-year-old Bentley race car. A perfect re-creation of one of the most exciting motorsport legends in history, considering this is a race car that never won a race. The Bentley Blower prototype dubbed ‘Car Zero’ required a team of artisans and the dismantling of an original 1929 Bentley Blower to laser scan each car part to create a 3D model blueprint.

According to Bentley, ‘Car Zero’ was born from 40,000 hours of labor and made out of 1,857 parts based on original plans. Its 4-½ liter engine is constructed to the exact specifications of the late 1920s, topped off with a supercharger to produce an estimated 240 horsepower. The 2021 Bentley Blower Car Zero will now undergo a durability test to give the new antique a proper shakedown by driving 5,000 miles around a track. The trial by drive will improve quality control when it comes time to build the 12 Bentley Bowlers in the continuation series, all of which are already sold to collectors. The cars may have owners, but it doesn’t mean we can’t admire the vehicle’s incredible build quality.
