Holland is the best Michigan town and a great place to RV Camp is at the Beach Campground at Holland State Park in site # 362 . Holland State Park has 2 campgrounds, the Beach and Lake Macatawa. I chose the Beach Campground over Lake Macatawa Campground because how close it is to the beach, Lake Michigan and the lighthouse. The Beach Campground is nestled between sand dunes with 98 paved campsites and 31 full hook-up sites. We only had electric but there is a water station plus dump station at the campground. Scott at first wasn't happy with Holland State Park because it reminded him of a parking lot but soon changed his mind because of how close it was to the lake. I liked it because we saw sand dunes around us plus close to Lake Michigan and the lighthouse. We also had a small view of the lake from our site because there wasn't many RV's there. In the evenings, we saw some amazing sunsets over the lake. From our site at Holland State Park, we could see a little bit of Lake Michigan!! It was really nice to be so close to the lake from our. campsite and we really enjoyed this Michigan town.

We rode our E-bikes to the Holland Harbor Lighthouse which is also called The Big Red Lighthouse. It is very close to Holland State Park but we were planning on touring the area. The lighthouse dates back to 1872 and is presently functional. After visiting the lighthouse, we rode our bikes along the Black Lake Boardwalk in Holland with some amazing views!!

Our next stop was the Ottawa Beach General Store in Holland. There were some souvenirs and other interesting stuff. They also have ice cream with a huge assortment of choices but unfortunately they weren't open when we were there. Maybe next time!! Since the ice cream wasn't open at the General Store, we went across the street to Dune Dogz & Treats. The ice cream was delicious and we enjoyed it on their patio. We opted for the blizzard type ice cream with Reese's Pieces!! It was so good after exploring the area in Holland.

Once we were stuffed from the ice cream, we continued on our E-bikes to the downtown area of this Michigan town, Holland. It took us about 40 minutes from Dune Dogz on bikes and to go back to Holland State Park Beachside Campground it took 45 minutes. It was definitely a long ride but it was nice day for a bike ride. The first thing we saw before we got to the downtown area was a windmill. Holland is a pretty lakeside town in Michigan that is inspired from the Dutch’s heritage. This best Michigan town is well known for hosting a Tulip Time festival during the spring season but we just missed it. We still got to see tulips all around Holland. The main shopping area is centered around 8th Street. We loved exploring Holland’s charming downtown with the Victorian-era buildings and the brick sidewalks that leads to cafes, shops, and boutiques. Whimsical sculptures are also scattered around the downtown area. Highly recommend putting this quaint town on your list!!

The next day we decided to drive in our RV to see some of the further sights in Holland. Some of the sights were spread out and riding our E-Bikes would have taken too long. We rode along the gorgeous Lakeshore Drive with all the beautiful trees. Our first stop on the drive was Tunnel Park to see the dunes of Lake Michigan. Tunnel Park is a 22 acre park with a big Lake Michigan beachfront. It also has a unique tunnel through a dune and a dune stairway with scenic views of Lake Michigan. It was a lot of fun climbing on the dune!!

We were very excited to go to Holland because of all the tulips. We decided to stop at the Veldheer Tulip Gardens and Windmill Island Gardens. It was just after the Tulip Festival so some of the tulips were dying but we saw many gorgeous ones. It is a must stop while visiting this Michgan town. We also stopped at The Windows on the Waterfront in Riverside Park & Kolleen Park in Holland!!
