Testing Games on the Apple Mac Mini M4 Pro Part 3

Описание к видео Testing Games on the Apple Mac Mini M4 Pro Part 3

In this second video, I test how the Apple Mac Mini M4 Pro handles gaming with the help of tools like CrossOver, Porting ToolKit 2 Beta, and CXPatcher. Here’s what I tried:

Games Tested:
-Demonologist
-Hogwarts Legacy
-Diablo IV
-In Silence

Mac Mini Specs:
-12-core CPU
-16-core GPU
-24 GB unified memory

Hogwarts Legacy: FPS Config

Add the following lines to the [SystemSettings] section:

r.Streaming.PoolSize=1024
r.Streaming.FramesForFullUpdate=20
r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=1
r.TargetPrecompileFrameTime=30
r.PredrawBatchTime=30
r.TextureStreaming=1
r.Streaming.UseFixedPoolSize=1
r.VirtualTexture=1
r.Shadow.MaxResolution=512
r.Shadow.DistanceScale=0.5
r.BloomQuality=1
r.LensFlareQuality=1
r.ScreenSpaceReflectionsQuality=1

Note:
This is not an FPS boost in the traditional sense. Instead, these changes aim to improve overall performance by reducing FPS drops and stuttering, resulting in smoother gameplay. However, some areas of the game may appear more pixelated or visually simplified as a trade-off for better stability.

For additional optimization, you can enable AMD FSR 2.0 and set it to "Quality." While lowering the setting further could increase FPS, it would significantly degrade visual quality, making the game much harder to play. Keeping it on "Quality" balances performance and visuals effectively without excessive pixelation.

If you're experiencing issues with the mouse appearing when clicking on the top part of the screen in Hogwarts Legacy, consider installing this utility: Cursorcerer (doomlaser.com/cursorcerer-hide-your-cursor-at-will). It allows you to hide your cursor at will and can resolve this problem effectively.

Please note: FPS may appear slightly lower due to recording. Actual gameplay without recording performs better.
