The journey features the Karuk Tribe’s dip-net fishing on the Klamath River, the ancient Blythe Intaglios of the Chemehuevi people, and the Paiute Tribe’s connection to Travertine Hot Springs. Bartell also visits the Yurok and Hoopa tribes to witness their canoe traditions and sacred ceremonies, and travels to Ajumawi State Park, home of the Water People of the Pit River Tribe.
