A walk from the old spa town of Bridge of Allan along the Darn Walk to Dunblane, pausing to reflect on the life of Robert Louis Stevenson. Along the way we stop at the cave that is thought to have been the inspiration for Ben Gunn's cave in 'Treasure Island', and ponder Robert Louis Stevenson's trips to Bridge of Allan to take the healthy waters. After Dunblane we follow the Old Doune Road, then a path on the old Dunblane, Doune and Callander Railway line. In Doune we visit the pistol factory of Doune pistol maker Thomas Caddell, and end at Doune Castle where we talk briefly of its history.
