With the end of the Financial Year only days away for most people that means Tax Time. This training film shows the workings of the Taxation Department which seem complex but in action are basically quite simple. Taxes are charges on people, property or business for the benefit of the whole country. The Commonwealth Government imposes taxes to pay for its services, pensions, health, education and so on. It's the job of the Taxation Department to find out what amounts have to be paid and to collect them. A young man joining the Department is given an inside look at how it all works.
