Описание к видео AWS Cloud Practitioner 4: Physical Infrastructure

AWS Global Physical Infrastructure

Regions
AWS resources are hosted in multiple locations worldwide, called Regions.
A region is composed of 3 or more AZ's (availability zones).
There can be multiple regions in one country.
A region is independent and private. It doesn't need other regions to function, it doesn't share its data with other regions - building fault tolerance.
By default, everything is private in a region, and not open to the internet/public. That must be configured.
When you view resources, you'll only see the resources tied to the region specified (because they're isolated).

Availability Zones
Each AZ has many data centres. AZ's are connected with low latency fibre connection. So if one AZ fails, the instances running on it will be shifted to other AZ's in the region.
This makes AWS 'highly available', because you can just shift AZ instantly if it goes down for some reason.
Amazon only opens AWS Regions/AZ's in countries that are politically stable, with guarantees/agreements with the governments.
AZ's in a region are not all exposed to the same risk, they are geographically separated like that.

Cloudfront
Edge locations are where the data is cached to reduce the latency to the end users.
Exam relevant: the service that manages all caching locations is called CloudFront.
The cache locations are called edge locations. They are separate from regions/AZ's. There are more of them than regions.

AWS Outposts
An outpost is an AWS hardware rack that they can install on premises for you. It is managed and configured by AWS experts so you can't access the internal hardware, though it's on your location.
Interact with AWS services
Visit AWS management console, use web app
Aws command line using AWS CLI
You can use AWS SDKs (software development kits) meaning interacting with AWS via code.
