In this video I have explained the reason why days are getting longer and also why Earth's rotation gradually slowing down in detail in bangla.

Although a day in our daily life is 23 hours 56 minutes 4 seconds long, but the length of the day on our earth is constantly increasing but the amount of increase is very insignificant which will not make any difference in our busy schedule. And the amount of this increase in length is 1.7 milliseconds/100 years. Yes, the length of the day is increasing by 1.7 milliseconds per 100 years.

The reason for the increase in the length of Earth's day is the gravitational influence of the Moon, since the Earth's surface is 71% water. Yes, you heard it right, waves and tides in the ocean are caused by the gravitational force of the moon. And also the Sun's gravitational force also contributes but its effect is very small because the Sun is far away from the Earth compared to the Moon. When the sun, earth and moon are in the same straight line, strong tides arise in the oceans of the earth, resulting in strong waves in the oceans. Therefore, both the tidal waves and the Earth's rotation lose some momentum due to the friction between the tidal waves and the earth's crust or seabed caused by the gravitational force of the moon. As a result, the earth's angular momentum slows down. Therefore, the period of rotation of the earth or days becomes longer. This is why the day is getting bigger.

When the earth was created 4.6 billion years ago, the length of the day was 6 hours. Then 1.4 billion years ago 18 hours, 620 million years ago 21.9 hours, and 145 million - 66 million years ago 23.5 hours.
